As a teenager, I discovered a work, or rather met characters from a series called "Full Metal Alchemist".
We follow the story of a young man who naively believes that he is capable of doing anything, owning everything if he is willing to pay the price?
life, with pain, will explain the reality of the world to him.
It is by finally accepting him, by accepting his helplessness that he will finally become an adult.
“one is all, all is one”
This simple sentence, heard several years ago now, is at the origin of the creation of these two series of photos,
but more broadly of my works as well as of my being.
It expresses the idea that without the world, the whole, each of us could not exist,
but also, that the world represents the whole of the units which compose it, thus, without me, us, Not, the world would not exist.
In my creations, the entity, the unity, is frequently found in contrast with its environment, immense, almost infinite,
but without ever neglecting its existence.
This first series "the UN" therefore includes photos that have received a recomposition treatment
in which I isolated an element, a thing, a being, the one.
The whole, the world, the whole, life?
so many name for a concept tempting to represent the infinity of all that is beyond us.
Every day we feel the weight of the questions that the universe asks us:
why am I here? How important is my life on the scale of the universe?
These ideas seriously raise the question of the absurd:
is there any meaning in all of this?
It is in the face of these questions that this sentence has helped me.
Yes, my life, yours, seems to be nothing on the scale of the universe, but without us it could not exist.
This is the answer I have chosen to give to myself in the face of these questions.
Thus, this second series, the whole, gathers photos without recomposition.
